Founded by Matt Ackerman in Olympia, WA, EGW Guitars builds unique, custom electric guitars that will inspire their owners to create and perform.

Fueled by a passion for music and the pursuit of a life less ordinary, EGW stands on the principles of craftsmanship, integrity, and individuality. In a world of cookie-cutter instruments, Matt’ s bespoke designs arise from close collaboration with his clients and a personalized purchasing experience.

For EGW, it’ s about bringing their dream instrument to life. EGW exists to support and inspire passionate guitarists of all levels. Every guitar is built with that goal in mind.

The EGW Story

EGW Guitars (formerly known as Endorian Guitarworks) began its existence as a last-ditch effort to maintain a shred of sanity after weeks turned to months turned to years of working from home in the new post-2020 world. The first days were full of simple electronics swaps, setups, and a desire to do more – with a steep learning curve.  After less than year, had earned a reputation for excellence that developed a large and loyal customer base.

Early Beginnings

An Evolution

One thing led to another and by mid-2024 the mission was clear and refined: to evolve the business solely to manufacturing of hand-built, superior quality electric guitars that cut through the noise to showcase the uniqueness of the player as much as the instrument itself. All while fostering a commitment to the individual, and a sense of community built around the most inspiring musical force in our lives - the guitar.

Built to be played. Crafted to be bold.

EGW Backstage

Before EGW was launched as a business, there was a simple idea which began as a podcast. Casual conversations aimed to meet musicians, no matter their accomplishments, exactly where they are on their journey. Discuss, dialog, inspire, share... and help where we can.

Come hang with Brion McCoy and Matt Ackerman and experience EGW Backstage: A guided look at life, experiences, and the ways & means of the guitarist's journey.
