Hand built. Because.

I started building guitars by hand - because my hands were what I had. Many builders, maybe even the majority, are using CNC. And there’s a lot of noise out there about what is better.

I’m not interested in that conversation. There’s good reasons to build by hand, and there’s good reasons to implement computer controlled equipment, but at the end of each build cycle there is an instrument - a tool. And the only things that should really matter are: does it sound great? Does it play great? Does it look amazing? Does it inspire you to play more?

I might move to CNC one day - if it makes sense. Does that make my hand built guitars better or worse? No. It’s just the way I do it.

When you craft something, do it with pride and joy. However and whatever that looks like for you.

Excited to send this newest EGW Guitars® E11eVen off to its home in Boston.
