The New EGW

LinkedIn keeps asking if EGW Guitars ™ is hiring. And as frequently as the answer was “no”, I didn’t for an instant think that maybe that was the world dropping hints that something was about to happen.
Last week I took a big step and signed a lease on a storefront and factory. Was it the right time? Well all I can say is that there is never a right time, but it wasn’t reckless. I’ve been capped at what I can produce and offer in terms of services for some time.
This was the move I needed.
The front of the building is transforming into the EGW showroom. I’m calling it the Greenroom. That’s the vibe. You walk in and it will feel like you’re getting ready to take the stage. The photo doesn’t fully reflect that yet because I’m not bringing in most of everything until the restroom renovation is done. But that’s the vibe.
Behind that door is 1000 sq ft of building space - broken into woodshop, setup, and finishing.
Outside of new builds, it is fully equipped to handle services, workshops, and provide opportunity to those that want to grow in the luthier space.
Two trusted people are already onboard to grow this - a production partner and business development manager.
How do you grow an idea into a real force in the industry? You have to know your brand, your customer, and have a lot of faith in your ability to muscle through the unknown. But once you have a team with you willing to fight for the same dream, that’s when things really start to gain traction.
Greenroom will be complete in December. Getting the last guitars for NAMM completed in the old shop, then moving the shop, grand ReOpening in February.
A little scared? You betcha. More than a little. Ready to push harder? LET’S GO!!!
The new EGW.
